Invention Support Announces a Great New Invention for Sports Enthusiasts Known as "Fantasy Sports Pods"
(PRWeb) January 17, 2007 -- Invention Support announces a great new invention for sports enthusiasts known as "Fantasy Sports Pods".
Invention Support has signed a strategic alliance with Michael Borski, the inventor of the new device known as "Fantasy Sports Pods", to offer support for this great new invention and to proudly introduce it into the general market.
The basic idea behind the Fantasy Sports Pods is to allow for storage and accessibility to the user's fantasy sports stats with the capability of live updates via the internet or through USB connection. These stats are part of a new online craze that can be found on many websites today such as the website sportsline.com/ fantasy. There are already thousands of members on these sites and the Fantasy Sports Pod would only make things more convenient for these members to access their high demand stats.
Fantasy sports started with a baseball league in 1980, with fantasy owners compiling weekly stats with various sports newspapers, such as Sporting News. The birth of the Internet gave rise to services that would quickly crunch the stats and send out standings via e-mail or post them on a Web site, giving the games explosive double-digit growth through most of the 1990s. The Fantasy Sports Trade Association was formed in 1999 to represent the growing industry. "The industry has finally realized people are willing to pay for stat service and the content if it's good enough," said Greg Ambrosius, president of Fantasy Sports Trade Association and editor of some of the fantasy draft guides. "No doubt the industry is much more stable business-wise because pay service has returned."
The FSTA now estimates that fantasy sports is a $1 billion-plus industry. About 85 percent of all fantasy sports participants play fantasy football, mainly online and big consumer-oriented companies have taken notice. A university of Mississippi survey estimates 15 million people who have made fantasy sports into a $1.5 billion business. According to that study, ESPN NFL males make up 72% of the market and men between the ages of 25-54 make up 43%. Bobby McCormick teaches sports economics at Clemson University and says "A lot of money's on the line. It heightens the demand when participants can know the details of their favorite fantasy sport. It really does integrate the fan into the sport. There is a lot of room in this marketplace for an innovation such as the Fantasy Sports Pods.
Needless to say, Fantasy Football is hot. For an industry built upon carefree, escapist fun, the video game sector faces a number of crucial real-world concerns and Fantasy Sports Pods will address these concerns in a very relevant manner. The potential for this market is enormous and Fantasy Sports Pods is a great idea which could likely win big success in the near future.
Indeed, the huge amount of marketing success that has come about in relation to fantasy football in general is evidence of a hugely expanding market potential for a device such as the Fantasy Sports Pods. Marketers and retailers of these products will soon begin to address the trends in the ways people are shopping for these devices and marketing success will come to companies that identify the shifts and turns in the consumer market before everybody else. Jumping on board with the great new invention like the Fantasy Sports Pods will be just the way to achieve these ends. It is very likely that this device will soon become a more popular tool for countless sporting enthusiasts all over the world. Tweet! The referee blows his whistle, temporarily stopping the soccer game. He then extends his arm at a 45-degree angle towards one of the corners of the field, on the half that the visiting team is defending.
