"Join Our Team!" - Vote for a Local Sports Initiative and Norwich Union will Give it the Chance to Win Funding of up to £50,000

Glasgow, Scotland (PRWEB) August 18, 2007 -- Norwich Union is making it easier for athletes to reach their full potential and for the next generation to get active, stay healthy and learn key life skills. Their "Join Our Team" Initiative.

A third of their support is focused on developing the sport at grassroots level. By 2012, the year of the London Olympics they aim to have engaged over 10 million children across the UK in Norwich Union funded athletics schemes.

As part of the Norwich Union "Join Our Team" campaign to help achieve this they have 216 initiatives to choose from, from athletics, community schemes and those to disability sport. Every initiative that gains at least 50 votes will win a bronze award of £1,000. The initiative that gains the most votes in each of our 12 regions will win a silver award of £12,500 and enter a nationwide final. The finalist that shows itself to be the initiative most worthy of our support, as decided by an independent judging panel, will win our gold award of £50,000.

The deadline for voting is 16 September 2007 so they need people to keep voting to help their local initiative, or one they would like to see gain funding by now.

Those that register to vote on the Join Our Team site are also automatically entered into a prize draw to win their own prizes. The current prize is a trip to La Manga for 2 with flights, accommodation and spending money thrown in.
