Tennis Triple Threat: Arthur Ashe Jr., Sports Scholar, "Jennifer Magley" is First Seeded at Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championsh

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 4, 2005 -- The 2005/ITA women's All-American Championships may be the last time Magley will compete on the college circuit, as she contemplates going professional after she graduates in December 2005 from the University of Florida with honors.

College Tennis has not seen the likes of such a fierce competitor on the court and in the classroom. She serves and pounds the courts with such grace and beauty. At 6-foot and 155 pounds, Magley would be a major attraction on any fashion runway, however, Paris, Milan and New York will have to wait as Magley pursues her lifetime dream to play professional tennis after college.

Magley is not one dimensional by no means. She has managed in spite of her busy schedule to maintain a 4.0 grade point average at Florida. She has also found time to participate in community service activities. This past Spring, Magley was named SEC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year and was a member of the SEC Good Works Team for community service.

Community service is nothing new to Magley. While attending Bradenton Christian High School in 1999, Magley founded the program "Pearl of Grace," a mentoring program for at-risk teenage girls in the inner city. She also plays the violin and the drums, and is the lead singer in a contemporary gospel group called "Faith." Magley has been blessed with physical beauty, great intelligence, athleticism and a charitable heart. Jennifer "Rose" Magley is a Brand by herself.

As Magley discussed her overall goals leading up to The 2005/ITA Women's All American Championships with fellow teammates, it is clear what her priorities are: God, Family, Education, winning the ITA Singles Championship and Max Starks(Former Gator and Presently Right Tackle for Pittsburgh Steelers) her boyfriend. Jennifer hopes to join the ranks of fellow Gators Jill Craybras(1999) and Jessica Lehnhoff (2001) by winning the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Singles Championships. In doing so, she would also earn the distinction of the second Afro-American to do so. Racquel Kops-Jones of Cal was the first afro-American to so in 2003.

The subject of "who is a perfect role model" has been widely debated in sports by Tiger Woods, Charles Barkley, Mia Hamm, Shaquille O'Neal, Venus and Serena Williams. Few can debate whether Magley is a "perfect role model." Magley's tenacity on the courts and in the classroom speaks for itself. Jennifer is a member of the "American Express Collegiate All-Star Team." She has been recognized as an "Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar;" "2005 SEC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year," 2005 SEC Women's Tennis Good Work Team Member" and voted "ESPN First Team Academic All District Women's At Large."

Jennifer is not only a credit to her parents Dave Magley (Former Cleveland Cavalier) and Evelyn Magley (Former Track Star and Concert Violinist), but to her University, her community and to Tennis. Jennifer's humility and genuine love of the game of Tennis should take her very far as she ascend to the World Tennis stage after graduation in December 2005.
